small things #7 ... no coats
A quick check of the clock - 3:42. Oops. Sucked into the computer. Again.
"Quick, quick. We need to load up in the van."
"Mommy? I bring my snack?"
"Of course. Come on now. Grab your shoes and go buckle up."
"Mommy? I wear my flip-flops?"
"Yes. Perfect. Slip them on quickety-split."
"Yes? Come on. Chop, chop."
"Mommy? I carry your purse?"
"Sure. Thanks for helping! Go, go."
"Mommy? Are we late?"
"Mommy? I need a coat?"
"Nope. It's warm out."
Ahhhh ... the change of seasons ushering in the balmy, no-coat weather.
No coats to pull out from under the shoes in the shoe bin.
No coats abandoned to the laundry room floor needing to be hung.
No coats to zip and button around little bellies.
No coats to unzip and unbutton for car-seat buckles.
No coats to retrieve off the van floor when we get a little toasty.
No coats to wear or carry in and out of stores.
No coats to make our appearance of "traveling as a horde" just that much bulkier.
No coats ... one of my favorite signs of spring.
