First Time

I listen as Brett reads; the kids cringe, cackle and cower.  I've read "The Order of the Phoenix" multiple times, but tonight it's fresh.  So is the anxiety, even if I know better.

    1. Well if you could have seen the kids thrashing around as they listened to the dueling, you would have had an even more entertaining image of their active-listening! :) Thanks for stopping by.

  6. Nothing like reading a good book and getting the same thrill over and over! It made me miss those days sitting around and having my parents read to me way back when. (:

    1. We just finished The Hobbit ... equally entertaining and exciting. I love to hear them groan and moan when we finish a chapter as they long for, "just one more..." Thanks for stopping by.

  9. Reading to my children from the day they were born in such a way that they both have a love of books, stories and being read to......is one of my crowning accomplishments as a parent. Reading aloud is, definitely, my favourite thing to do as a teacher. Harry Potter, btw, is one of the best series of books ever to read aloud. There is such a cadence in J.K. Rowling's writing.
Thanks for capturing the magic of reading to children so magnificently. This story was great!

  13. Great one! I've had the 'put the books down and wipe your sweaty palms' feeling. I get this way with movies sometimes as well!
